Apartment Holidays in Puerto del Carmen

Looking for a good value winter break in the sun at prices that won’t break the bank?

Lanzarote (along with the other six Canary Islands) is Europe´s only genuine winter sun destination.  As it is only four hours flying time from the UK and is serviced by a number of the leading low cost operators such as Monarch and easyJet – so ensuring a steady availability of cheap flights to Lanzarote.  With prices starting from around £200 return.

Prices for a weeks stay in an apartment in Lanzarote are affordable too – starting at around £170 for one bedroom accommodation on a complex with pool.

Lanzarote´s oldest resort boasts the highest concentration of apartment complexes on the island.  And most of these are located in what is known as the New Town area of Puerto del Carmen.  Which basically runs parallel with the resort’s main beach – Playa Grande – a 6km long stretch of golden grains.

Amongst the most popular apartments in Puerto del Carmen are the adults only accommodation at the San Francisco Park complex.  Which are located just one street behind the main seafront and just five minutes walk to the nearest beach.

The complex operates a strict no children policy which is extremely popular with visitors in search of some serious peace and quiet.  And San Francisco Park also offers plenty of decent on site amenities too – such as a private pool and manned reception area.  With mature and well planted tropical gardens.  Prices here start from as little as €28 per apartment per night.

Another popular accommodation option is the Las Tabaybas apartments.  Which enjoy a fantastic location just opposite the main beach Playa Grande, close to the Los Fariones Hotel.  The sea is literally just 50 meters walk away and the complex boasts great views down to the beach and across to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura.

Each apartment sleeps up to three people and are all comfortably furnished with fitted kitchens, lounge areas and private terraces – which are ideal for soaking up both the sun and the excellent views.  Prices here start from £230 per week.

Elsewhere in the resort more luxurious accommodation is available at the new Harbour Lights apartments.  Which are located in the Old Town harbour area – the spot where tourism in Lanzarote first took off.

The small and modern Harbour Lights complex was converted from an old house as recently as 2007.  So all of the facilities are virtually brand new and in excellent working order.  And encompass flat screen TV’s, internet access and stylishly decorated living and sleeping areas. These two bedroom apartments sleep up to four people and prices for a weeks stay start at £425.
